The Committee heard the activity report of the Parliamentary Delegation to EuroNest PA, introduced by the Head of the Delegation, the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili. She overviewed the activities undertaken within the 10th plenary assembly in Chisinau, and the Committee sittings in Brussels for 2023.

“The central topic at the sessions was the lobby of the obtainment of the candidate status. The Assembly has adopted a joint ad hoc resolution initiated by the Georgian, Ukrainian and Moldovan Delegations, confiding the support of the EU integration of Georgia. The resolution adopted by the Political Committee also reflected the EU integration progress of our country”, - she stated.

According to her, the Delegation actively participated in the EuroNest PA Committee activities.

“At the Committees, we discussed the draft resolutions developed at the EuroNest session of 2024. The resolution discussed by the Political Committee provided the support of the territorial integrity and the EU integration of Georgia. The resolution adopted by the Social Committee embodied the activity of Georgia within the assistance and support to Ukraine. We resorted to the attempt to express the positions of Georgia at all possible platforms and levels and the inculcation of the interests of Georgia in the resolutions”, - she added.

The reporter also introduced the report of the Parliamentary Delegation to EU-Georgia Parliamentary Association Committee being the Head of the Delegation. According to her, on June 8, 2023, the Georgian Delegation participated in solid composition – legislative and executive authorities – at the meeting in Brussels.

“This format allows the Georgian and the EP Delegations to jointly undertake parliamentary oversight on the activity of the European Commission and the Georgian executive authorities, the EU integration of Georgia and other relevant issues”, - she stated.

Per her information, the Committee members discussed the fulfillment of the Association Agreement, DCFTA scopes, sector cooperation, energy security, human rights, and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
