The Parliament of Georgia has joined the Belgrade Declaration, adopted at the inaugural Conference of Speakers of the Parliaments of EU Candidate Countries, held in the Republic of Serbia.

The Declaration underscores the important role of parliaments in the European integration process.

The candidate countries also agreed to hold annual meetings of the Speakers of their Parliaments, establishing a permanent framework for political dialogue and the further strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The next Conference of Speakers of the Parliaments of EU Candidate Countries will be held in the Republic of Moldova in 2027.
