The Secretary General of the Parliament of Georgia, Ketevan Kvinikadze hosted the Secretary General of the German Bundestag, Michael Schäfer in the Parliamentary Palace, where the parties discussed the aspects of future cooperation.

The format of bilateral cooperation as well as the development of regional cooperation with the Secretariat of the Bundestag and the Network of Secretaries General of Parliaments of the EaP Countries were the topics of discussion.

The Secretary General of the German Bundestag was welcomed by his Georgian counterpart as part of the visit at the recently inaugurated Citizen Reception and the Museum of Georgian Parliamentarism, where the spaces were designed using German expertise and models provided as part of the best cooperation.

The Secretariat of the Parliament of Georgia counts several years of close cooperation with the Secretariat of the German Bundestag.

The Secretariat of the German Bundestag is also an active supporter and partner of the Network of Secretaries General of Parliaments of the EaP Countries.

Michael Schäfer was invited to the Parliament of Georgia during the official visit of the Secretary General of the Parliament of Georgia and Chair of the Network of Secretaries General of Parliaments of the EaP Countries, Ketevan Kvinikadze to the German Bundestag in November.

The main supporter and partner of the Network of Secretaries General of Parliaments of the EaP Countries is the project of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) "Modern and Strong Secretariat of the Parliament in Eastern Partnership Countries".
