On October 11-13, Ljubljana, Slovenia, hosted the 71st NATO PA Annual Session, attended by the Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia composed of Nikoloz Samkharadze (Head of Delegation), Mariam Lashkhi, and Levan Makhashvili.

Within the session, Georgian MPs submitted the amendments to the Reports and Resolutions developed by the Assembly Committees pertaining to the EU and Euro-Atlantic integration progress of Georgia, the political processes in the country, the occupied regions, the national security and the foreign policy priorities.

The Delegation members accentuated the situation in the Georgian regions occupied by Russia and introduced the amendments to the Resolution concerning the NATO future strategy towards Russia. They once again affirmed the unwavering loyalty of Georgia to the common values and the agenda.

According to the decision made at the NATO PA plenary session, the Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia progressed to a new category from the associated status - partners for comprehensive security along with the European Parliament, the Ukrainian Rada, the Parliament of Bosnia, the Parliament of Austria etc.

The hereof institutional modifications will facilitate the parliamentary diplomacy between the Parliaments of the NATO partner states and enhance the partnership with NATO PA.
