The Speaker overviewing the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the country at the meeting with the President of the German Bundestag

The Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting with the President of the German Bundestag, Bärbel Bas, serving the official visit to Georgia.
Mr. Papuashvili thanked his German counterpart for the intact support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty, the non-recognition policy of the regions of Georgia occupied by Russia, as well as the institutional and socio-economic development of our country upon the restoration of independence.
The parties deliberated on the EU and NATO membership of Georgia, the steps and expectations of Germany and Georgia at this path, the Russian aggression against Ukraine and its consequences, the developments in the region and security challenges.
The counterparts underlined that the high-level meetings and visits are based on productive cooperation counting years in the spheres of culture, education, science etc.
According to Mme. Bas, Germany supports the EU integration of Georgia and similar to the last three decades, intends to further keep supporting our country.
The meeting was attended by MPs Archil Talakvadze, Anri Okhanashvili, Teona Akubardia, Ana Buchukuri and Irakli Shatakishvili.
