Salome Kurasbediani, Deputy Chairperson of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, met with Dario Liguti, Director of the Sustainable Energy Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

During their meeting, they discussed the topic of decarbonization, with Mr. Liguti providing information about an ongoing project focused on training various interested agencies. They also touched on the classification of natural resources, particularly in the context of the National Minerals Agency's work on the Code on Mineral Resources. This process aims to align with international standards for the classification and methodology of natural resources.

The discussion also covered future plans for cooperation, with S. Kurasbediani expressing gratitude for UNECE's support in adopting the Environmental Assessment Code and readiness for continued collaboration.

The meeting was attended by Igor Litvinyuk, Economic Affairs Officer of UNECE, and Oleg Dzioubinski, Regional Advisor.
