Parliamentary Delegation Led by Nino Tsilosani on Official Visit to Canada

The Parliamentary Delegation, led by Vice Speaker of Parliament and Head of the Georgia–Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group, Nino Tsilosani, is on an official visit to Canada.
As part of the visit, high-level bilateral meetings are scheduled in Ottawa and Toronto with representatives of Canada’s legislative and executive branches.
Delegation members will meet with the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada, Francis Scarpaleggia.
During the visit, the Georgian delegation will also meet with the Canada–Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group. This will be the first time that a parliamentary delegation from Georgia has paid an official visit to Canada within the framework of the friendship group.
Meetings are also planned with the Senate and House of Commons committees responsible for foreign affairs, international development and trade, as well as human resources and social development. The delegation will additionally meet with the leadership of the Canadian delegation to the OSCE PA and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The main objectives of the meetings are to strengthen bilateral parliamentary ties between the two countries, deepen economic and trade relations, and discuss regional security issues.
At the conclusion of the visit, the parliamentary delegation will meet with representatives of the Georgian diaspora residing in Canada.
The delegation includes the Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Mariam Lashkhi; the Chair of the Diaspora Committee, Irakli Zarkua; Vice Speaker Gocha Enukidze; the Chair of the Sports Committee, Viktor Sanikidze; and the First Deputy Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Giorgi Khakhubia.
