The meetings of the Parliamentary Delegation in the United States

The Parliamentary Delegation serves a visit to the USA.
Today, Georgian MPs held a meeting with the Head of the USA-Georgia Friendship Group, Congressman Adam Kinzinger and the Congressmen Steve Chabot, David Cicilline and Don Bacon.
The parties discussed the security and acceleration of NATO integration of Georgia.
Georgian MPs appealed to the Congressmen to be actively engaged in the lobbying of Georgia for the rapid membership. The parties overviewed the grave situation and security issues in the region discussed the democratic development of Georgia and noted that in terms of the democratic reforms, Georgia is one of the dignified countries in the region and deserves the support of the USA in fighting for freedom and independence against the Russian aggression.
Georgian MPs informed the Congressmen about the factual annexation of the occupied territories by Russia and the Russian plans to gain full control of the post-Soviet area. The Congressmen reaffirmed the intact support to the security and defense capacity of Georgia pledging to strive on the NATO membership of Georgia.
“The meeting was very productive with our good ally – Georgian Delegation. Providing the Russian threat to Ukraine, we shall enhance our military and economic support for them”, - Congressman Kinzinger stated.
“We met with the Georgian MPs – David Bakradze, Irakli Beraia and Nikoloz Samkharadze to discuss the defense strategy against the invasion of Russia in the sovereign states. The sanctions are not enough, we need to arm our partners to make the invasion expensive while we still have time”, - Congressman Bacon noted.
The Parliamentary Delegation is composed of the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Defense and Security Committee Irakli Beraia and the First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Committee Giorgi Khelashvili.
