The Competition between the Companies and Service Quality to be improved through the establishment of the Telecommunication Infrastructure Sharing Commitments

The Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee discussed the Draft Law on Sharing the Applied Physical Infrastructure for the Telecommunication Infrastructure and Telecommunication Purposes, establishing the commitment to sharing the telecommunication infrastructure to improve the competition and service quality of the companies.

The Draft was introduced by the First Deputy Chair of the Committee, Eka Sepashvili with the I reading.

“The changes serve for the establishment of the EU directives of 2014 in the national legislation. The Draft will allow the business operators to legally apply the infrastructure for better service provision, which in its turn, improves the competition between the operators and increases their service quality, at the same time reducing the service fees”, - the reporter noted.

The sitting was attended by the business operators, representatives of the Telecommunications Business Association, GNCC etc. the positions of which will be shared by the Committee with the II reading.
