Meeting of Shalva Papuashvili with Åsa Regnér, Deputy Executive Director for Policy, Programme, Civil Society, and Intergovernmental Support at UN Women

The Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili met with Åsa Regnér, Deputy Executive Director for Policy, Programme, Civil Society, and Intergovernmental Support at UN Women to address Georgia's progress toward gender equality, including the concept of gender equality that will be adopted soon, the implementation of gender quotas, and the creation of a gender impact assessment tool in the Parliament.
Åsa Regnér hailed the progress made by Georgia on the path to women's empowerment and gender equality, noting that Georgia already has the tangible experience and concrete examples that are paramount for global discussion.
Åsa Regnér expressed readiness to further support Georgia.
Shalva Papuashvili thanked the UN Women for its fruitful cooperation and support.
The meeting was attended by the Chairperson of the Gender Equality Council, Nino Tsilosani.
