In line with the decision made by the Permanent Parliamentary Open Government Council, the Draft Action Plan N5 (for 2023-2024) shall be submitted to the Bureau for ratification.

“Following the ratification of the Open Parliament Action Plan by the Bureau, we intend to proceed to the fulfillment of the assumed commitments. If there are any surveys or additional information available regarding the hereof issues, please, provide them and get actively engaged in the fulfillment of the commitments envisaged under the action plan”, - the Speaker and the Chair of the Permanent Parliamentary Open Government Council, Shalva Papuashvili stated.

The Action Plan provides three commitments, namely, improvement of the recommendations issued by the Parliament in capacity of instruments and inculcation of the monitoring system thereon; improvement of access to information on legislative and oversight activity of the Parliament; and improvement of the civic engagement mechanisms in the lawmaking process. Pursuant to the Plan, the first commitment envisages the development of uniform methods/samples in regard to the fulfillment of the recommendations of the Committee.

The Working Group assigned to work on the hereof commitments shall be chaired by the member of the Council, Eka Sepashvili.

The second commitment implies the improvement of access to information on legislative and oversight activity of the Parliament through the extension and structuring of the audio-visual channels on the parliamentary website, and the respective Working Group will be headed by a Council member, Mariam Lashkhi.

Within the framework of the third commitment, a discussion forum shall be established in view of improvement of the civic engagement in the activity of the Parliament envisaged under the Rules of Procedure, and the Speaker will be selected as the Chair of the respective Working Group.
