Meeting of Shalva Papuashvili with the Presidents of the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Netherlands

The Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili met with the Presidents of the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Netherlands, Vera Bergkamp and Jan Bruijn.
The parties underlined the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the countries and cooperation in the bilateral and multilateral formats, emphasizing the enhancement of parliamentary links, including at the Committee level.
The Speaker highlighted the Georgia-Netherlands parliamentary twinning project, aiming at the enhancement of parliamentary oversight on public finances and intensification of fiscal administration. Speaker Papuashvili introduced to his Dutch counterparts the progress achieved by Georgia in terms of compliance with the EU recommendations.
The Dutch MPs welcomed the efforts of Georgia at the EU aspiration path and pledged their support to our country in this process.
The parties discussed the Russian aggression against Ukraine and its grave consequences, as well as the developments in the South Caucasus region.
The Parliamentary Delegation, headed by the Speaker is composed of MPs Maka Botchorishvili, Giorgi Amilakhvari, Khatia Tsilosani, Rima Beradze, Elguja Gotsiridze and Khatuna Samnidze.
