Meeting of Shalva Papuashvili with the Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries

The Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), Zacarias da Costa.
As the Speaker noted, the friendly relations with Portugal have significantly contributed to the development of contacts between Georgia and the Lusophone nations. According to him, the Associate Observer status of CPLO is crucial for the successful realization of the non-recognition policy of the occupied territories of Georgia.
The Speaker thanked the CPLP Executive Secretary and the member states for their merit in the enhancement of the territorial integrity of Georgia.
The parties deliberated on Russian aggression and the modern challenges of international security. The emphasis was made on the importance of respect for the rules-based international agenda.
As Mr. da Costa noted, CPLP is committed to further cooperating with Georgia and supporting the non-recognition policy.
