Shalva Papuashvili: I extend my sincere New Year’s wishes for 2025. I am confident that the forthcoming year will herald a pivotal moment, culminating in the triumphant liberation of our nation

H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, extends his most heartfelt New Year’s greetings to the Georgian citizens. As the Speaker’s New Year’s greetings emphasize, 2024 was a year marked by numerous triumphs. However, 2025 holds the potential to be a pivotal year, culminating in the ultimate victory for Georgia.

“Dear compatriots, both those residing within Georgia and those residing abroad, I extend my most sincere New Year’s wishes for 2025. My wishes are imbued with unwavering optimism for the realization of two fundamental objectives: peace and unity.

The years of our nation’s history have not been devoid of challenges, but the past year has been particularly tumultuous for Georgia and the global community. The pervasive impact of the global pandemic, coupled with devastating conflicts and precarious geopolitical dynamics, have underscored the fragility of our world.

Reflecting on the past year, we have gained invaluable insights into the profound value of peace, unwavering determination, wisdom, caution, and foresight. We have come to recognize the significance of responsibility and the imperative to cherish the legacy entrusted to us by the Almighty and passed down through our ancestors—our country, its rich history, its present, and its future.

Consequently, the only prudent course of action for us to pursue is the unwavering commitment to the peace policy. Simultaneously, we recognize that achieving success, alongside peace, can only be accomplished through the timeless principle espoused by our ancestors: unity makes strength. This fundamental formula encapsulates the entirety of Georgia’s history, encompassing both its past and its future.

Standing united bolsters our strength, and unwavering strength leads to triumph. It was the unwavering unity, unwavering consent, and unwavering persistence that paved the way for our nation’s salvation, progress, and development.

While 2024 witnessed numerous victories, we acknowledge that greater and more significant triumphs lie ahead. I am confident that the forthcoming year will mark a turning point, culminating in the ultimate victory for our beloved homeland. Our triumph will be achieved in the enhancement of our sovereignty, the fortification of our national identity, and the attainment of peace.

In 2025, we must unequivocally consolidate all our efforts to secure prosperity and unify our nation.

I extend my most heartfelt wishes for a joyous New Year. May the Almighty bless our families and guide our nation toward a brighter future”, - the greetings by the Speaker state.
