The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, visited the disaster-affected area in Telavi.

According to Shalva Papuashvili, the damage caused to the city by the natural disaster is being assessed, and the state will take appropriate measures in response.

Alongside the operation of heavy machinery in Telavi, volunteer teams composed of representatives from municipalities across the region have also been mobilized to support the ongoing response efforts.

Representatives of the Georgian Dream Youth Organization, led by Varlam Liparteliani, have likewise joined the disaster relief operation.

Shalva Papuashvili met with the volunteer group and received an update on the current situation. As a result of the heavy rainfall in Telavi, the ground floors of residential houses and other buildings were flooded, electricity transmission lines were damaged, and sections of the road infrastructure were affected. Initial road clearance operations are currently underway.
