The member of the Parliamentary Delegation to PACE, Tamar Taliashvili expressed her solidarity to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people at the extraordinary session of the Assembly.

“The Georgian Delegation to CoE, along with our Ukrainian colleagues and other states, clearly and loudly declare that Russia does not refuse the goal to absorb free Europe. Unfortunately, the aggressor managed to continue relations from the forceful position”, - she stated.

According to her, in this complicated situation, we need unity not only within the CoE through the multitude of its institutions but beyond it. It is important for all the European institutions to ensure coordinated cooperation, invitation of allies and friends and enhancing trust in them towards the European leadership.

“Preservation of freedom in Europe depends on Europe to demonstrate courage, resist this challenge and assume leadership. And Georgia univocally remains loyal to justice and long-term peace in Europe”, - she added.


According to her, now time acquires the highest value. Innocent children and peaceful citizens fall as the victims of the bullets and bombs of the aggressor minute over a minute. T. Taliashvili appealed to the Committee of Ministers to immediately reflect the unity and power of PACE in the enforcement.

The Parliamentary Delegation, headed by Irakli Chikovani participates in the PACE extraordinary session. The Delegation is composed of Tamar Taliashvili and Khatia Dekanoidze.
