Tea Akhvlediani reporting to the Interim Commission on Restoration of Territorial Integrity and De-Occupation

The Interim Commission on Restoration of Territorial Integrity and De-Occupation heard the report of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani.

The reporter, at the sitting in camera, provided the account on the state approaches to the peacekeepers process and reviewed new initiatives, also answering the questions.

“During the meeting of the Commission, we had the privilege of engaging in comprehensive discussions on the state’s policy on reconciliation, the advancements made in the peacekeeping process, and the persistent challenges that primarily concern the unlawful occupation of the Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions. In my report, I emphasised two key priorities: the strengthening of the youth’s involvement in the peacekeeping process and the initiatives we are currently implementing. Additionally, we discussed the ongoing program by the “Red Cross” to locate missing individuals from the armed conflicts of the 1990s and the 2008 Russia-Georgia war”.

According to the State Minister, the close cooperation of the Parliament with the State Minister’s Office is imperative for the achievement of the common goals.

According to the Chair of the Commission, the First Vice-Speaker, Giorgi Volski, the State Minister introduced interesting initiatives about the peacekeeping perspectives.
