The Briefing by Jondo Baghaturia, the Leader of “Kartuli Dasi” (Georgian Group)

Media and Society 19 Oct 2010

Jondo Baghaturia, the Leader of "Kartuli Dasi” (Georgian Group) demands the increase in pension rates in the budget for the 2011 year and the resumption of the healthcare field’s funding. The MP considers that from the next year the pensioners and the poor citizens should be provided the free medical insurance policies by the state. According to him, within the healthcare programs the priority should be given to the funding of oncological diseases, cardiosurgery, referral, urgent or emergency medical aid programs.

Apart from the healthcare system, the demands raised by Jondo Baghaturia regarding the budget concerned the field of education as well.  The MP considers that in the field of the higher education the free education sector should be resumed for the IDPs, the residents of the adjacent villages to the occupied territories and the children from socially vulnerable families.

Baghaturia considers that the school manuals should be distributed free to the pupils. "This is a single spending for the budget, because the books are for the multiple utilizations.  The corresponding system is already introduced to Adjara and it operates successfully”, - he stated.

The MP expects submission of the new, socially oriented budget.
