The briefing by the Member of Parliament, Giorgi Tsagareishvili
Today, at the briefing, the Member of Parliament, Giorgi Tsagareishvili spoke about the details of the referendum, held on November 2, 2003.
Giorgi Tsagareishvili represented the archive material and stenographs concerning the above-mentioned issue to the journalists and reminded them the then statements of the representatives of the Majority and the Opposition Parties.
He was interested, if the legislative initiative of the President of Georgia on reduction of the number of the MPs as a result of the referendum was illegal, why nobody appealed it during these years. "If it was illegality, then the Parliament of the preceding convocation was illegal as well, and the current Parliament, consisting of 150 Members is illegal and the laws, adopted thereby too. Why has nobody appealed it yet? It’s because it is creation of false impression for people and disgraceful deal between the Government and some Opposition Parties”, - he stated.
