The Independent MPs Eka Beselia and Zviad Kvachantiradze introduced the Bill on Mandatory Installment of the Child Seats in the Vehicle to the Parliament

Today, Independent MPs Eka Beselia and Zviad Kvachantiradze introduced to the Parliament the bill concerning the mandatory installment of the child seats in the car.
As the bill envisages, the special child seat shall be used upon transportation of the children under 12 and under 135 cm. on the back seat corresponding to the height and weight of the child. The regulations do not apply to the public transport.
As noted, the road safety is quite acute in Georgia as evidenced with high number of the injuries during the accidents. Hence, it is paramount for the state to ensure safe transportation of the children and protection of their lives and health.
The changes are in full compliance with the EU legislation and have been developed on the basis of the experience and legal regulations of EU member states.
The bill was developed in cooperation with the field specialists and NGOs.
