The members of the Faction “Alliance of Patriots – Social-Democrats”, Vice Speaker Irma Inashvili and the Chair of the Faction, Giorgi Lomia met with the Austrian Ambassador, H.E. Arad Benkö to discuss the political arrangement model of Austria.

“Austria is a neutral state, EU member but out of every military block. It has declared neutrality and we wanted to know more about this model and to know how Austria manages to ensure its security against neutrality, what the function of EU is and what partnership projects it holds with NATO. Austria variously cooperates with NATO without being NATO member”, - I. Inashivli noted.

According to her, this model is very important for Georgia and the Faction offers the authority to share the Austrian, Finnish, Swedish and Swiss models. The Faction schedules the visit to Austria to hear comprehensive information about neutrality by the policy-makers, experts, Constitutionalists and military experts.

“At present, it is expedient to study and share the models of Austria, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland”, - she stated.
