The meeting of Tedo Japaridze with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania

The Chair of Foreign Relations Committee, Tedo Japaridze met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania, H.E. Giedrius Puodžiūnas. The parties discussed bilateral relations and cooperation, EU and NATO integration of Georgia, regional securities and current challenges of Georgia.

The Ambassador confirmed commitment to support Georgia in the spheres where Lithuania has rich experience. He noted that Lithuania will further support Georgia on international theatre and within various organizations. “Georgia is the leader amongst EaP states. Lithuania, as EU and NATO member state, is ready to share experience and support Georgia and EU and NATO integration path. It is a complicated process but Georgia has already implemented the number of significant reforms. This day will for sure come and Georgia shall be ready” – H.E. stated.

“We shall continue reforming. We shall increase democratic quality. Road to NATO and EU means high quality democratic in the country”, - T. Japaridze stated. He offered to hold the meeting of the Chairs of Foreign Committees of Polish, Romanian, Georgian and Lithuanian Parliaments to discuss challenges and security issues and consider the ways for Georgia to obtain experience of EU and NATO member states.

The Ambassador approved the initiative. T. Japaridze thanked the Ambassador for the visit to the Parliament and support to Georgia.
