The meeting of the Minority Leader, David Bakradze with German Bundestag Fellows and Interns of Georgian Parliament

David Bakradze spoke about importance of internship in the Parliament and of such meetings. He noted that he always hails the meeting with motivated youth. He answered the questions on various issues, including on moving the Parliament to Kutaisi, future plans, economics, EU challenges etc.

He touched upon change of the Government and stated that it was a test for democracy degree, successfully passed by Georgia. “There are winners and losers in the Elections, substituting each other. It is the norm for a democratic country and it was the first time when the losing party did not disappear. When the losing party disappears, it means democratic non-maturity and political chaos”.

He also spoke about visa liberalization and stated that despite of the threat of outflow of professional employees, this step was of the utmost importance for Georgia in economic, political, psychological and other terms.

Speaking of obligations under EUAA, he noted that the changes shall be gradually implemented to prevent negative impact of the changes to petty and average business development. He also spoke about measures necessary for business development and noted that changes, simplification of business-making procedures, set of preferences, improvement of legislative base, preferential loans and other aspects are necessary for economic growth and business development.

“Business development has lots of impediments, including non-established business mentality amongst society, which can be explained with the fact that we merely have not passed capitalism and thus, have less knowledge about market relations”.

David Bakradze spoke about territorial integrity and stated that integrity requires formation of international environ to prevent recognition of occupation and legalization of changed geography of Georgia, which needs non-recognition policy and mentioning of occupation in all international, EU and UN resolutions and documents. He touched upon his past experience and stated that man shall always analyze his past as past experience creates future. He named mistakes as excessive severity in tax system, jurisdiction and other factors.

The meetings with the interns and practitioners, organized by HR Department with Committee Chairs and MPs are of systematic nature aimed at increased of quality of involvement in legislation process and more transparency of the hereof process. The meeting was attended by the Head of HR Department, Diana Asatiani.
