The member of the Gender Equality Council, Ana Natsvlishvili held a meeting with the representatives of the state agencies and private sector to deliberate on the economic empowerment of women.
During the meeting, participants discussed the potential avenues for enhancing women's economic empowerment and their access to financial resources. It was highlighted that women's economic empowerment is a designated government priority. However, to translate this priority into practical action, effective coordination between the government, civil society, and the private sector is essential.
"Today's meeting serves as a continuation of the thematic inquiry titled "Access to financial resources for women and girls." The objective of this meeting is to translate the issues and opportunities highlighted in the thematic research into practical action. It's worth noting that the women's economic concept, which received multi-party support in parliament, is a significant document. The primary focus now is to transform the outlined approaches in the document into tangible realities. Achieving this goal necessitates coordinated and substantial efforts involving the government, private sector, and civil society. Hence, the purpose of meetings of this nature is to bring all stakeholders together and collaborate towards achieving systemic, rather than isolated or fragmented, results", - Ana Natsvilishvili stated.
