The Speaker, H.E. Archil Talakvadze has hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria, H.E. Thomas Muhlmann to underline the close bilateral relations between the countries and discuss the necessity of the enhancement of economic relations and the revival of tourism amid the post-pandemic period.
The parties stressed the mutual interest in expanding economic cooperation and increasing Austrian business and investment in Georgia.
Dwelling upon the Parliamentary Elections, the Ambassador noted that the OSCE/ODIHR report on the elections was a gold standard and that political parties should seize the opportunity provided by a multi-party Parliament.
A. Talakvadze introduced the possibilities offered by the Government to the opposition to verify the allegations related to the elections. He also stressed the importance of the ongoing dialogue under the facilitation of the ambassadors.
The Speaker thanked the Ambassador for the assistance provided by Austria to Georgia in the fight against the pandemic.
