The Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Avtandil Enukidze met with the President of the International Ice Hockey Federation, Luc Tardif, and the President of the Georgian Ice Hockey Federation, Zakaria Khechuashvili to discuss the further development of ice hockey in Georgia.

As Avtandil Enukidze stated after the meeting, Luc Tardif made a certain contribution to the revival of ice hockey in our country and he expressed his readiness to help in the development of this sport in Georgia in the future.

"A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the parties yesterday during a meeting between the president of the International Hockey Federation, Luc Tardif, and Georgia's Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, Tea Tsulukiani. This document is crucial for the continued growth of ice hockey in our country. At the meeting today, Luc Tardif pledged to support the Georgian side in building the envisioned ice hockey and figure skating rink of international caliber in Tbilisi, including by offering technical advice throughout the designing process. I spoke with Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili and Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth Tea Tsulukiani in my capacity as Vice-President of the Georgian Ice Hockey Federation about their support for the development of ice rinks in Georgia. After the Georgian hockey team's impressive showing in the "B" division of the World Championship, where our team won silver medals and consequently advanced to the "A" category, this issue became even more important. The head of the International Hockey Federation assured us that the idea of hosting the "A" Division World Championship in Georgia will be examined if infrastructure improvements with the necessary criteria are implemented there. For the debut of the ice rink with international standards for ice hockey and figure skating, Luc Tardif stated that he will undoubtedly travel to Tbilisi”, - the Vice-Speaker stated.
