The Permanent Parliamentary Council for Protection of Rights of Child discussed the implementation of the Action Plan

The Child Protection Council (CPC) held an online meeting, where the Chair of the Council, Vice-Speaker David Sergeenko overviewed the implementation of the Action Plan.

He informed MPs about the Plan communicated 2 months ago and discussed the priority of the activity of the Council.


“The tasks the Council has assumed cover various spheres and activities and thus, the Council had to develop the key indices, which after the monitoring of the hereof activities, and on the basis of the analysis, will allow us to issue the respective recommendations. We introduced the Action Plan communicated 2 months age, exchanged the positions and resumed on the optimal way for the Council to exercise its functions”, - he stated.


When we speak about the rights and welfare of the children, it is impossible to separate any certain issue as every issue in this sphere is a tie one priority, though the Council still made an exception.


“In view of monitoring and efficiency assessment, we separated the special priorities, like child poverty, children with disabilities, prevention of violence against children, de-institutionalization – provision of the children from the orphanages to the maximally biological or approximated families”, - he added.


The sitting was attended by the members of the Council: Dimitri Khundadze, Mikheil Sarjveladze, Ketevan Dumbadze, David Matikashvili, Tamar Taliashvili, Ana Buchukuri, Ana Tsitladze, Tariel Nakaidze and Vladimir Kakhadze, as well as the invitees: UNICEF representative, Ghassan Khalil and the World Vision Child Protection, Advocacy and Partnership Department Director, Maia Mgelashvili.
