Beka Odisharia participated in the Georgian-American Day Event in the USA

The Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Beka Odisharia serves the visit to the USA, within which, he participated in the event dedicated to the Georgian-American Day by personal invitation of the Brooklyn Borough President, Antonio Reynoso, which was held with the initiative of the Charity Organization in the USA “Diana Bagrationi Foundation” and with support of the Mayor of Brooklyn.


Mr. Reynoso, hosting the event, thanked the Georgian Diaspora and the Georgian people for their contribution to the development of culture and noted that the friendship between the Georgian and American people has no alternative. He described his impressions of familiarization with the Georgian culture and hospitality of the Georgian people and noted that this is a memorable day in the history of the country.


“I am glad that our friend and colleague, Antonio Reynoso resumed with his greatest pleasure to further enhance the Georgian-American relations. Today, we witness the Georgian Flag flying on this historical building on the occasion of the Georgian Days in the USA. We touched upon many issues, including the characteristic similarities between the historical and old parts of Brooklyn and Tbilisi. We will further discuss these issues within our dialogue and naturally, already together with the administrations of New York and Tbilisi to decide on the formal way of the approximation and friendship between these two historical districts – Borough and our historical Tbilisi”, - B. Odisharia stated.


The event included the performance of the Georgian Anthem and the awarding ceremony of the Georgian citizens contributing special merit to Georgian-American relations and friendship. The Folk Ensembles performing in New York introduced Georgian dances and classic songs.


“It is noteworthy that the celebration of the Georgian-American Days is already a tradition held annually in New York”, - B. Odisharia added.
