The Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee approved the agreement submitted by the Government for ratification.

Mzia Giorgobiani, the Deputy Infrastructure Minister, introduced the Change N1 to the Grant Agreement between Georgia (recipient) and the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (Nefco) (as the Agency assigned for the E5P-funded project “Renovation and Improved Energy Efficiency of Public Schools in High-Mountain Regions”), and the Change N1 to the Loan Agreement between Georgia and NEFCO (Renovation and Improved Energy Efficiency of Public Schools in High-Mountain Regions).

The documents envision extending the loan accessibility term. As for the Agreements, the loan shall be consumed on the rehabilitation of the schools in the high-mountain villages of Georgia, namely, 12 schools in various regions, six of which are already under renovation.

According to Shota Berekashvili, Chair of the Committee, the Agreements encompass the implementation of significant programs ensuring energy efficiency of public schools in the highland villages.

The Committee approved the Agreements.
