The PACE Committee on Culture, Science, Education, and Media, at the committee sitting in Rome, heard the resolution “Youth and Media” elaborated on by Tamar Taliashvili, Chairperson of the Media and Information Society Subcommittee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and the First Deputy Chairperson of the Education and Science Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.
The Georgian MP delivered a speech before the PACE Committee, accentuating the challenges as well as the new opportunities that the media creates for young people.
"I am glad that my resolution initiative has piqued the interest of the PACE Committee and the European scientific community. One of the most important issues that have garnered special attention from the world community is the impact of media on youth. Individual freedom is the bedrock of a democratic society; so, the media in the information society should be able to foster this freedom, and, in turn, young people will develop the media environment through inventive and creative techniques”, - Tamar Taliashvili stated.
Researchers and experts in the field of media and youth from Italy, Belgium, and Spain were invited to the hearing of the resolution at the PACE Committee.
