Fridon Injia: Constitutional draft laws signify the protection of family values and need to be endorsed

"Constitutional draft laws signify the protection of family values. When such bills are drafted, I cannot help but support the initiators. Being in the opposition does not imply being against the government, nor should one adopt an adversarial stance", - Fridon Injia, the Chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists", stated during the public discussion of the constitutional drafts "On Amendments to the Constitution of Georgia" and "On Family Values and Protection of Minors" in Batumi.

According to him, many people in Georgia welcome the constitutional changes.

"These bills are sensible and undoubtedly acceptable. We cannot proceed with a referendum, as it should be conducted across the entire territory of Georgia, which we are temporarily unable to organize. However, we have the option of a plebiscite, which can be employed freely. Although the bill currently mentions "family values," I would opt for "Georgian values," as it encompasses family traditions, particular reverence for women, the safeguarding of Orthodoxy, and the deep respect and love for the Georgian language”, - Fridon Injia stated.
