The Committee held a working meeting to discuss the Bill on Pets with the participation of the staffers and the representatives of City Hall, Tbilisi Assembly, and the Animal Monitoring Agency.
Simultaneously with the presentation of the Bill, the attendees discussed the objectives, principles and system changes of the Bill.
As noted, the Bill aims at the establishment of the legal mechanisms for grooming of the pets. The Committee also schedules the meetings with NGOs and all parties concerned prior to the initiation of the Bill.
“We hold the active consideration of the Bill co-authored by the Committee and Tbilisi City Hall. It is the Bill to, in a complex and system manner, regulate the issues related to the grooming and managing of the pets. It contains various novelties, including the obligations of the owners and municipalities. Soon, we are starting the process with active civic engagement and it is crucial that both – the ruling party and the opposition are engaged in the development of the Bill”, - the Chair of the Committee, Maia Bitadze noted.
