
The Deputy Education Minister, Teimuraz Murgulia introduced the Bill on Vocational Education to the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee.
“Education is the priority for us, including the vocational education is the direction which evidently reflects and corresponds to the problems and challenges the labor market encounters. The structural unemployment in the country is mostly related to the vocational education and thus, the Ministry and the partners have developed the respective Bill”, - he stated.
The Bill aims at development of the vocational education system and facilitation to state policy therein. The Committee discussed the Bill and the accompanying drafts. The reporter answered the questions.
According to the First Deputy Chair, Giorgi Begadze, “education is one of the top priorities of the Government as it is reflected in the 4-point plan for development of the country. I believe that the Bill corresponds with the plan. Evidently, we shall meet the requirements of the labor market with the qualified personnel and this Bill is one of the important drafts in this direction”.
The Committee approved the package and heard the report by the National Bank for 2017 introduced by the NB President, Koba Gvenetadze.
He emphasized the aspects deriving from the specification of the Committee. The report concerns the monetary-credit, currency and oversight policy, as well as audited financial reporting. “The main objective of the National Bank is to ensure price stability, to facilitate to financial stability of the country, ensure economic growth and the report reflects hereof activity”, - he stated.
The Committee took note of the report. G. Begadze thanked the reporter and the Council for the report and active cooperation.
