The First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Giorgi Khelashvili held a meeting with the pedagogues in the settlements of ethnic minorities and dwelt on the foreign policy priorities, European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the respective challenges.
“In terms of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Georgia is at a very important stage today and it is noteworthy that the pedagogues manifest their deep interest in these issues. They fluently speak Georgian, are motivated and demonstrate their capacity to deliver this information to their pupils. These meetings with ethnic minorities shall be held not only in Tbilisi and in the Parliament but in the regions as well. This campaign is organized by NATO and the EU Center, though we would welcome a wider engagement therein by the Ministries as well”, - he stated.
“Provision of the pedagogues with information about the European and Euro-Atlantic integration is a priority task since the pedagogues carry a mission to deliver information to their target audiences, especially to the youth and their colleagues. Today, when the anti-West propaganda gains particularly acute pace, the fact-based information is of the precious value”, - the representative of the Information Center on NATO and EU at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Mariam Gigauri noted.
The meeting was organized within the US Department of State-funded project “Increasing awareness and sustainability of the Society” by the Information Center on NATO and EU at the Foreign Affairs Ministry
