Meetings of Giorgi Khelashvili in Argentina

The First Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and Head of the Georgia-Argentina Friendship Group, Giorgi Khelashvili, is in Argentina on an official visit.

During his visit, Giorgi Khelashvili met with Senator Lucila Crexell, the Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Georgia in the Argentine Senate.

The leaders of the Georgia-Argentina Friendship Group examined the two countries' principal areas of cooperation and discussed the opportunities for strengthening inter-parliamentary relations.

During the meeting, Giorgi Khelashvili shared his experiences with regard to implemented reforms in Georgia, particularly the shift from a presidential to a parliamentary government.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee also met with Paola Michielotto, Marcelo Guoman, and Matas Damián Lopez, MPs from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.

Meetings were also held with Elisa Trotta, the diplomatic representative of Juan Guaidó, the interim President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Ezequiel Fernández Langan, the representative of the main opposition bloc "untos por el Cambio", and Juan Pablo Maglier, an advisor to the association "La Rural”.

Giorgi Khelashvili delivered a public lecture to the students of the Faculty of International Relations at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina's, where he talked about the newly emerged challenges amid the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
