First Vice Speaker of Parliament and Chair of the Interim Commission of the Parliament of Georgia on Issues Related to the Restoration of Territorial Integrity and De-occupation, Giorgi Volski, met with the newly appointed Head of the Georgia Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Joanna Barton.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Georgia.

Special attention was paid to activities carried out for the repatriation of the remains of those killed during the armed conflicts of the 1990s.

Giorgi Volski expressed gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for its extensive work in this area.

The participants of the meeting agreed on issues related to future cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by former Head of the international organization’s delegation, Ann Montavon, who led the ICRC Georgia Office for four years.
