The Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia held a meeting with the Assistant Secretary General of NATO, David Cattler.

I. Beraia thanked the NATO representative for supporting the sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia. The parties discussed the Russian war against Ukraine, security challenges for Georgia and a wider region and the priorities of the Georgian foreign policy. The parties underlined the importance of the enhancement of the national defense capacity and the resistance in response to various threats. I. Beraia underlined the necessity of acceleration of the decision on NATO membership of Georgia.

The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chair of the Committee, Alexander Tabatadze and the Deputy Chair, Vladimir Chachibaia.
