„It is alarming that the report includes statements that “possible imprisonment of Saakashvili may further complicate relations of Georgia with Europe and the US”,- said executive secretary of the party Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia and the Speaker of Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze at a special briefing commenting on the report published by Freedom House.
According to the Speaker, Mikheil Saakashvili and its party are no longer supported by the western partners.
“We are happy that our western partners have positive attitude towards pro-western parties and politicians. Strengthening cooperation with these political powers is our main goal. However, Saakashvili and its party no longer have this support, and the party, because of objective reasons, is no longer an interesting political power for our western friends. Considering the foregoing, the above-mentioned phrase is surprising”, the Speaker said.
