
Irakli Kovzanadze, Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, met with the head of the International Monetary Fund Mission, James John, and members of the Mission.
The parties discussed the economic situation of the country and existing challenges, including the implemented and envisaged legislative initiatives in monetary, financial, and budgetary directions.
The parties also touched upon the planned changes in the 2022 state budget, as well as the current situation in the banking sector, including the macro-economic, monetary, and fiscal situation and prospects of the Georgian economy in the light of the challenges of the Russia-Ukraine war.
As Irakli Kovzanadze noted, progress in the direction of economic growth continues, which allows budget adjustments.
