Irakli Kovzanadze and Pawel Herczynski discussing the Georgia-EU trade-economic relations

The Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Irakli Kovzanadze accompanied by his First Deputy, Paata Kvizhinadze held a meeting with the EU Ambassador, Pawel Herczynski to introduce the functions and plans of the Committee.

The parties touched upon the State Budget priorities for 2023, macroeconomic parameters, monetary stability and the sustainability of the financial-banking system of the country. As I. Kovzanadze noted, Georgia enjoys a 2-digit economic growth for the last 2 years.

“I believe, 2023 will be the year of further economic growth for Georgia”, - he underlined.

The parties highlighted the significance and prospects of the Georgia-EU trade-economic relations and the further extension of the investment capacity. I. Kovzanadze dwelt on the EU-funded public service twinning project launched by the Committee last year. As noted, the 2-year twinning project will further boost the parliamentary oversight on public finances, in terms of which the European experience is of essential importance.
