
The Committee recommended the election of Giorgi Kalandarishvili as the Chairman of the Central Election Commission with 10 votes, thus rejecting the candidacy of Giorgi Santuriani with 4 votes.
The Committee proposed Gia Tsatsashvili for one open position on the Central Election Commission with ten votes, and Maia Zaridze for the other vacant position with the same number of votes.
Lela Taliuri, who was nominated with Gia Tsatsashvili for one of the Central Election Commission's open positions, received three votes, while Tamar Sartania, who was nominated with Maia Zaridze, received three votes against one.
According to the Chairman of the Committee, Anri Okhanashvili, the process of hearing the candidates was quite intensive, in which both the parliamentary majority and a number of opposition groups participated.
"The Committee asked a lot of questions regarding the candidates' activities and visions, and they were all endorsed by the Committee. This is already being considered in the plenary session, where the candidates who were not recommended by the Committee will be put to a vote as well”.
