
The Interim Commission on Women and Children Affairs held the first sitting and elected the Chair and the Secretary of the Commission. The Commission members elected Mariam Lashkhi as the Chair, and Eka Sepashvili as the Secretary.
Mariam Lashkhi introduced the draft Articles of the Commission and reviewed the objectives and priorities set within the mandate.
According to her, the Commission, within its competence, shall facilitate the protection of the rights of children in various domains, the active participation of women in political and economic processes, and the solution of demographic issues.
The Commission, in collaboration with the respective Committees, shall take active part in the development of the Draft Laws and the Draft Resolutions safeguarding women's and children's rights.
The Commission shall also scrutinise the respective problems and issue respective solutions, conclusions, recommendations and legal initiatives.
