
The Culture Committee members held a meeting with the poet David Magradze to overviewed the recent books of the poet and stress the importance of his verses published in Abkhazian, Ossetian and Circassian languages within the Caucasian project.
“The objective of the Committee is not only the development of the Bills but the meetings with the poets, writers and other artists. We intend to enlarge our meetings and engage the Georgian writers and poets within the cultural diplomacy”, - the Chair, Eliso Bolkvadze stated.
D. Magradze thanked the Committee for the interest in his pencraft and invitation and noted the importance of translation of his verses.
“It is important for me that the ethnic Abkhazians, Ossetians and Circassians have translated my works, which were published in Jordan. I believe, it is not only lyrics but a great deed of national value”, - he added.
The poet David Magradze is the author of the text of the State Anthem of Georgia and was nominated for the Nobel Prize of 2011 in Literature.
