The Culture Committee conducted a second reading, article by article, of the draft amendments to the Law of Georgia on Culture.
The draft law was presented during the committee session by Deputy Minister of Culture, Beka Davituliani.
According to the proposed amendment, the authority to support and finance cultural programmes will no longer rest solely with the Ministry of Culture. This responsibility may also be delegated to a Legal Entity of Public Law (LEPL) operating under the Ministry, in accordance with a decree issued by the Minister of Culture.
The Committee expressed its support for the draft legislation.
