The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili, held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Georgia, H.E. Matúš Bušovský.

Maka Botchorishvili congratulated the ambassador on starting his diplomatic mission in Georgia and wished him success in his future endeavors. The parties discussed successful bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and the Slovak Republic, and explored opportunities to further strengthen these ties.

They also focused on Georgia's progress in its path toward European integration, particularly the positive recommendation from the European Commission regarding Georgia's candidate status. They discussed the implementation of these recommendations and the next steps in the process.

The ambassador affirmed Slovakia's support for Georgia's European Union integration and willingness to assist Georgia in various necessary areas. Maka Botchorishvili expressed gratitude for Slovakia's strong support for Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and Euro-Atlantic integration.
