The Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Sesiashvili met with the members of the Lithuanian Sejm, where discussions were held on the common challenges stemming from the Russian propaganda, ways to deal with it, sharing mutual experience in this area and future cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides focused on the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia and the prospects of our country's EU and NATO integration. The guests reaffirmed their intact support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as Georgia's integration into the EU and NATO.
"Lithuania is an outstanding supporter of our country, which has always upheld Georgia's territorial integrity, and its EU and NATO integration in all international formats. MPs from the Baltic States have always supported Georgia at all levels. We are dealing with common challenges, including one of the main challenges i.e. Russian propaganda, fake news, attempts of Russian politics to penetrate into our country's domestic politics. This is a concern for all three Baltic states, including Lietuva. They care about our experience as much as we care about their experience – the ways they deal with such challenges. We exchanged our ideas in this regard”, - Irakli Sesiashvili commented.
Paata Mkheidze, member of the Defense and Security Committee, also participated in the meeting with the members of the Lithuanian Sejm.
