The Standing Audit Group reviewed reports submitted by the State Audit Office

The Standing Audit Group under the Budget and Finance Committee, responsible for reviewing reports of the State Audit Office, discussed the compliance audit report of the LEPL Land Transport Agency, as well as the audit report on the compliance of the financial and economic activities of JSC “Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation” for 2022–2023 with applicable legislation.

The Head of the Audit Department for Economic Activities of the State Audit Office, Tornike Shermadini, presented the findings and recommendations of the compliance audit of the LEPL Land Transport Agency.

According to him, the audit period covered the years 2022–2023, and the main findings included: the organization of competitions for issuing multiple permits, shortcomings related to the issuance of international road passenger transport permits, issues in permit management and issuance policies, and the introduction of additional barriers in the process of issuing third-country permits.

The reporter noted that, based on these findings, three recommendations were issued to the Land Transport Agency, all of which have already been implemented.

The Head of the Audit Department for General Public Services of the State Audit Office, Giorgi Kekelishvili, presented the audit report on the compliance of the financial and economic activities of JSC “Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation” for 2022–2023 with applicable legislation.

According to him, the audit revealed findings related to: expenses incurred prior to agreement with a partner, deficiencies in the inventory process, control over employees’ working hours, shortcomings in the justification of bonuses, and documentation gaps related to business trips abroad.

As stated by G. Kekelishvili, 11 recommendations were issued to JSC “Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation,” of which 9 have already been implemented, while 2 remain in progress.
