After the enlarged meeting and the signing ceremony, Shalva Papuashvili and Mustafa Şentop made the official statements to the media.

According to them, upon the complicated situation in the region, the Parliamentary and bilateral relations acquire particular importance.

In this context, Mustafa Şentop emphasized the Cooperation Act signed between the Parliaments.

“I would like to express my consent that on the basis of the invitation by Shalva Papuashvili, I today visit Georgia. I would like to deliver the greetings by the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkish Members of Parliament and the Turkish people. I am accompanied by the Delegation composed of the MPs from various parties. We have held bilateral and enlarged meetings discussing the regional and international issues, as well as the ongoing developments. Turkey and Georgia are friend countries, allies and the most important is that Georgia is a strategic partner of Turkey. We share common values and the relations we enjoy shall be applied at the Parliamentary level. I am glad to see the increased trade between our countries when in 2021, it achieved 2,1 bl. USD. We support Turkish businessmen encouraging them to visit Georgia. Deriving that Georgia is our strategic partner, we attach the utmost importance to regional security and peace. Turkey supports the integration of Georgia to NATO and Euro-Atlantic organizations and the territorial integrity and sovereignty and we strongly declare our support at every platform. In this period when we encounter a very sensitive attitude in the region, the Parliamentary and bilateral relations acquire particular importance. In this context, the Cooperation Act we have signed today is of the utmost importance”, - he stated and invited Shalva Papuashvili to Turkey with the official visit.
