"The State Security Service deserves the highest evaluation from the legislators”, - the head of the Trust Group, the Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia, stated after the meeting of the Trust Group, where they heard the head of the Security Service of Georgia, Grigol Liluashvili.

The head of the Security Service presented a report on covert activities and special programs implemented in 2022 to the Trust Group, while Grigol Liluashvili informed the group about the current security environment and discussed the steps taken to prevent threats and challenges facing the country.

"The Security Service is a highly accountable agency, having made the most appearances before the Trust Group last year. The cooperation between the Trust Group and the Security Service has reached an unprecedented level. I extend my gratitude to all the Service's employees, whether undercover or open, who work around the clock to ensure the safety and security of our country. The head of the Service, its leadership, and personnel can always count on the full support of the legislators”, - Irakli Beraia remarked.

The head of the State Security Service assessed the importance of cooperation with the legislative body in the format of the Trust Group and noted that the agency actively continues cooperation with the Parliament.

"During the Trust Group meeting, discussions were held on various current issues and challenges related to security, with a particular focus on topics such as occupation, terrorism, and migration policy”, - Grigol Liluashvili noted.
