Nikoloz Samkharadze Met with the OSCE Secretary General
The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee and Head of the Parliamentary Delegation OSCE PA, Nikoloz Samkharadze, met with the OSCE Secretary General, Feridun Sinirlioğlu.
 
The meeting focused on the OSCE’s future plans, the European security environment, and recent developments.
 
The parties discussed Georgia’s important and active role within the organization. Particular attention was drawn to the fact that Georgia has submitted its candidacy to preside over the organization in 2027.
 
Nikoloz Samkharadze noted that, should Georgia be elected as a president, the OSCE’s work would become more useful and effective.
 
During the meeting, Nikoloz Samkharadze also spoke about ongoing domestic political processes in Georgia and the parliamentary agenda.
 
In Vienna, Nikoloz Samkharadze also held a meeting with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Jan Braathu. Media freedom-related issues constituted the main topic of discussion at that meeting.
